Art in classromm improves performance

“It’s time to stop thinking about the arts as fluff. They make schools better places to learn, they raise student achievement”. (Nick Rabin and Robin Redmond.) Research shows that art is a valuable tool for engaging students and improving performance. The arts improve children’s overall academic performance; shows that children actively engaged in art education are likely to have higher test scores than those with little to no involvement. Students develop skills needed by the 21st century workforce: critical thinking, creative problem solving, effective communication, teamwork and more. Art teaches children to be more tolerant and open. Art allows children to express themselves creatively and improve self-confidence.
