Emu

Title: Emu

My friend Joyce raises Emus in Wisconsin.  She challenged me to create a piece using naturally molted feathers from her birds.  I found 2 African prints and sewed them alternating the right and reverse sides, framed them in black, then applied the Emu feathers.

Karen, I want to see, but there's no picture. It sounds intriguing.

Beautiful! How do you display a piece like this?

Uniquely interesting ... as is most of your art. What is the scale (size) and is it batted? or mounted on something solid such as foam core?

PS: I just noticed that this was the day you are demonstrating. Sorry I missed it.

Nellie, Its approx. 2.5' x 4' batted. --Demonstration was an interesting experience. News Flash: I'll be 1 of 6 Artists in Action at the Dogwood home and garden show next month! Updates coming soon.
