The Tennessee Artisan Market at The Renaissance Center invites all interior designers, interior design students, lighting professionals, artists and the general public to a free Interior Design Event and Lecture on Friday, October 7th, 6::30 pm. The event will start with a lecture and presentation on “Light Revealing Design” by Amy Laughead-Riese, LC, the President and principal lighting designer for 37 Volts Light Studio, LLC in Cincinnati, Ohio. Amy will discuss techniques designers can use to reveal their design, including how to use light to defy gravity, melt architecture, or influence behavior. She will also address how to successfully accomplish good lighting design by keeping in mind budgets, energy codes and alternative light sources. In addition, she will discuss “Lighting Focal Points”, lighting characteristics to be considered when lighting paintings and sculpture, of interest to artists and interior designers alike.
After Amy’s presentation in the large lecture hall, we will have a Meet & Greet reception in the Tennessee Artisan Market at around 7:30 pm. Several of the Tennessee Artisan Market artists will be on hand to answer questions about their work.
